News:

Earlier this week, Namie Amuro officially retired after 25 years in the music industry as the reigning Queen of J-Pop. Though I’m very sad, she deserves to live her life, and I hope she lives her best life.

There are whispers of another superstar heading toward retirement, Ayumi Hamasaki, who’s on another tour even though there were rumors earlier this year that she would retire because of her worsening hearing problems. We’ll just have to wait and see, but good luck to her on her current tour.

Boyband V6 will be contributing to the soundtrack to ‘One Piece’ in the upcoming season. Their song ‘Super Powers’ will be the new theme song, starting October 7th

AKB48’s current sales have surpassed 1.45 million with ‘Sentimental Train,’ which means that the girls have surpassed over 50 million units sold for singles alone. Congratulations!

They’ve also announced their 54th single, ‘No Way, Man!’ Which will be the last single for members Sakura, Hitomi and Nako before they head back to Korea to participate as winning members for the Produce48 girl group, IZ*ONE. The contract lasts for approximately 2-2.5 years.

In Korean news, Dongho, formerly of U-KISS is getting a divorce and asks people to mind their own business for the sake of his son. He said it a lot nicer than I did, but really, butt out. He was trying to keep it quiet in the first place.

There wasn’t anything negative I guess, just personality clashes and they decided to amicably go their separate ways for the better for themselves and their son. Good for them.

A teaser was released earlier on Instagram about a drama called, ‘Terius Behind Me’ or ‘My Secret Terius,’ about a widow trying to uncover the secret behind her husband’s death. She soon learns that ‘neighborly help’ can mean more than a borrowed cup of sugar. That’s from the DramaFever synopsis, which is where you can watch it.

Park Shin Hye returns to the small screen in a mystery drama opposite Hyun Bin called Memories of Alhambra, which will also star EXO’s Chanyeol as her genius programming brother.

BTS spoke at UNICEF,  On September 24 at 12 p.m. local time, UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) launched their new “Generation Unlimited” initiative at the 73rd UN General Assembly, as a part of the United Nation’s youth strategy, “Youth 2030.”

Invited as UNICEF goodwill ambassadors, BTS gave a speech in honor of the launch with RM as the representative.

He opened by introducing himself and expressed, “It is an incredible honor to be invited to an occasion with such significance for today’s generation.”

RM proceeded to reflect on the message of BTS’s “Love Myself” UNICEF campaign — “True love first begins with loving myself” — and what he’s learned through his own life story.

He then expressed, “Let’s all take one more step. We have learned to love ourselves. So now, I urge you to speak yourself. I’d like to ask all of you, ‘What is your name?’

“What excites you and makes your heart beat? Tell me your story. I want to hear your voice. I want to hear your conviction. No matter who you are, where you are from, your skin color, your gender identity, just speak yourself. Find your name and find your voice by speaking yourself.”

Referring back to how he defines his identity and his own conviction, RM concluded, “What is your name? Speak yourself.”
