Friday Flicks: Mask

I’m pretty sure this was airing around the same time as “Masked Prosecutor,” and I was too busy with that to pay attention to this, so yeah.

I finished “Master’s Sun” and asked my friends Morgan and Leigh for suggestions. Both pretty much demanded that I watch “Mask,” because it was so good.

Well…they’re not wrong, but I’m not as impressed as I thought I would be.

The main couple especially. I mean…I just want to bash some people’s heads into brick walls, y’know what I mean?

Synopsis: Desperate to escape her father’s debt, Ji Sook poses as a rich girl and even meets an actual rich man– but how long can she keep the charade up?

and then the more in depth synopsis here: Desperate to distance herself from her father’s crippling debt, Byun Ji Sook (Soo Ae) begins to pose as Seo Eun Ha (Soo Ae), a wealthy socialite with an eerie resemblance to Ji Sook. While playing her new role, she has a chance meeting with Min Woo (Joo Ji Hoon), a cynical CEO desperate to escape his privileged world. Invigorated by her atypical “rich girl” personality, Min Woo quickly falls for “Eun Ha,” but how long can Ji Sook keep up the charades before Min Woo discovers she’s an impostor?

Okay, so spoilers now: technically, she wasn’t trying to run from the debt. She was trying to run away from the debt collectors, this is true.

However, she was approached by a character close to Minwoo (played by Yun Jung Hoon from “Vampire Prosecutor“) who first made an offer, and out of desperation, threatened her, so she HAD to pose as Seo Eun Ha.

Hoya of Infinite plays her brother too (eeeek!) However, her mother is stubborn, Ji Hyuk (Hoya) is stubborn and stupid, and so is she (Soo Ae)

Once you start watching you’ll find out why. This drama is so frustrating, I hope the ending is good.

Because as of right now, I’m cheering the bad guy on. Not his wife tho, she’s a bitch. And not a cute vampire prosecutor….
