K-Pop Rookies 2014 – Boys

Another year has come and gone, and so have  many rookie groups. Who was your favorite? While you sit there and decide, I’ll list mine here:

Zhou Mi

Though not a rookie per se, since he’s a member of super popular and huge (literally and figuratively) boy band Super Junior, this IS the year he debuted as a solo artist with “Rewind,” featuring either Chanyeol or Tao of EXO, depending on which version you’re listening to.

I like it. I like it a lot.

UNIQ

Oh, UNIQ, who are technically a YG boy group, even if it’s only by promotional standards, I loved their debut and was thrown back by their comeback with the Ninja Turtles theme *giggles immaturely for eternity* I love you guys none the less.

But please keep the rap and dew rags at home.

Crush

UGH, my feelz. Crush debuted earlier this year, and blew me away with “Hug Me,” which is great for baby-making. He also came back with “Sofa,” which is where I assume this baby-making will take place.

WINNER

Of course y’all knew WINNER would make it on this list, and with my favorite video nonetheless, “Empty.” I like it better than “Color Ring” and am not including Mino‘s “I’m Him” because too much WINNER is bad for my feelz.

Beat Win

Won my heart earlier in the year with their blonde bombshell and catchy tune “She’s My Girl,” and their comeback with “Illusion” was pretty cool as well. I can’t wait to hear more from them.

Akdong Musician

Yeah, I know, they’re a co-ed group, but I just decided to make my lists even. I’ve loved them since their days on
K-Pop Star 2,” and was more than excited to hear that they joined my bias company, YG Entertainment. They’re a breath of fresh air to the K-Pop world, and I love them to bits and pieces.

Now the moment you’ve all been waiting for…

LEGEND

With their golden voices that give me many feels, LEGEND threw themselves onto my bias list with their debut song, “Left Out.” They left me in awe, and I really loved them and was dying when I heard they were making a comeback.
