J-Indie Picks 9.30.14

HAHAHAHAHAHA I crey, really I do. Last week was hectic at work. For those of you who don’t know, and are confused as to why many of my scheduled articles are late, I work in a cookie factory. It’s hot as hell, and I’m there anywhere from 8-12 hours a day. Not to mention I’m trying to switch shifts to make it easier on myself.

>_> It’s pretty difficult right now. I actually missed everything from J-Indie Picks up to Friday Flicks, and I am sincerely sorry. It’s been a rough week.

However, lets move onto more joyous things. More indie things. Japanese indie, to be specific.

Oh wait, you can’t YouTube is being an ass again… >_> way to go, YouTube.

Anywho…

There’s nothing more fun that musical diabetes. And that’s exactly what Akasick deliver with “Purichi,” which, if it weren’t for all the angsty guitars and rapping, would be a perfect J-Pop song, just like Neux suggested. This is from their 2nd mini album of the same name, set to release on the 8th.

Thought the blonde dude was possessed for a second….goddamn, get an exorcism. There’s screamo, metal, emo, rolled into one terrifying taco that is A Barking Dog Never Bites‘ “Black Out.” It’s terrifying half the time. The other half the time a cute brunette is singing.

If this doesn’t creep you out too much, check out their 1st mini album, “DOGIT,” which is was released on September 3rd!

Last but not least, wow this band has a gem of a name. If you thought POT‘s name was hilarious…wait for it…This is SHIT HAPPENING‘s “Tomei Ningen.” Gave me a small chuckle. But in all seriousness, what both bands have in common besides odd English names, is the fact that they’re cool angsty bands, and you should listen to both.

But for right now, check out “Tomei Ningen,” from SHIT HAPPENING’s upcoming mini album, “透明人間.” It is set to be released on October, 22nd!
