Alright, so maybe the title is a little overwhelming…but then again, maybe not. I have been so excited for LU:KUS to debut it’s not even funny. My friend Alona and I were really excited. I can’t speak for her, but for myself…I was disappointed.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: rookie groups don’t need so much auto-tune. There was so much I barely heard their real vocals, so I didn’t get a feel for a raw sound. If I wanted vocaloids, I’d watch one.
Another thing is, with the face masks, as others, I assumed it would be a badass song. The thing was, even though I wasn’t expecting, nor wanting B.A.P copycats, I would gladly welcome one, in place of this bland song. There was a catchy hook throughout the song, and the rap by member Jinwan was badass. It improved the song, really. But other than that, it was bland and forgettable.
There are 3 members of X-5 in this group. I wasn’t into X-5, but I have heard of them before, and the fans on this video said that the vocals were PHENOMENAL. WHERE THE HELL ARE THE PHENOMENAL VOCALS? Why would you hand them this mediocre song in place of one that would display their amazing vocal ability?
The dancing was ho-hum and the plot was so cliche, my 11 year old sister could do better. I could do better half asleep on cold medication that’s how cliche this is.
And hear me out: this isn’t me ragging on LU:KUS, because it was their company’s ideas, they were just doing their job. And my disappointment stems from the fact that I was so excited, so ready for them to debut, I had heard nothing but good things about them, and then I was handed a bologna sandwich, rather than the steak I was promised.
You get what I’m saying?
This is their debut song, “So Into U”
